Materials: Paton (affiliate link)s Grace 100% sport weight yarn, 100% mercerized Cotton 50g/1.75 oz. 125m/136 yds – 1.5 balls
Notions: yarn needle, 4 stitch markers, 2 pieces of waste yarn, 5 white buttons 5-6 mm, sewing need and thread to attach the buttons.

Needles: US # 1 (2.25mm) circular, OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE, crochet hook 2,25mm

Gauge for stockinette stitch: 28 st x 40 rows = 4" x 4” (10 cm x 10 cm)

Abbreviations:

k - knit

p- purl
kfr&b - knit front and back
yo - yarn over

k2tog - knit 2 together
ssk - slip the first st as if to knit, knit the second st, pass the first st over

RS - right side

WS - wrong side

pm - place marker

sm - slip marker

Pattern Notes:

Stockinette Stitch in rows:
Row 1 (RS and all RS rows) - knit
Row 2(WS and all WS rows) - purl

Repeat 2 rows.

Stockinette Stitch in rounds: knit all rounds

Garter Stitch in rows: knit all rows

Garter stitch in rounds:
Round 1 and all odd rounds - knit
Round 2 and all even rounds - purl

Lace pattern A worked on 4 sts:
Row 1: yo, ssk, k2tog, yo
Row 2: purl

Lace Pattern B
multiple of 4; worked on hem, in-the-round:
Round 1: *yo, k2, k2tog - rep from * across the round
Rounds 2, 4 and 6: knit
Round 3: *k2tog, yo - rep from * across the round
Round 5: k1, k2tog, *yo, k2, k2tog - rep from * across the round to the last st, k1.

Selvedge/edge stitches: knit the first st, purl the last st in row

Raglan increases: Increase for raglan by making yarn over (yo) on each side of indicated, marked, stitch in every right side (RS) row: yo, sm (slip marker), k1 (raglan st), yo. There are 4 raglan lines, so in each RS row the number of sts is increased by 8.

Short Overview of the Pattern:

The dress is worked from the top down, with yarn over increases on raglan lines, forth and back with back seam to waist line. Then it's worked in-the-round without seams on circular needles. The button band is crocheted.

Cast on 42 sts.

Row 1 (RS): k41, p1.

Row 2 (WS): k1, p41.

Check the sts and place markers:
1 edge st, 5 sts (right back), 1 st (the first raglan line, place a marker before this st), 8 sts (right sleeve), 1 st (the second raglan line, place a marker before this st), 10 sts (front, count 3 sts and place a marker after the third st, count the next 4 sts and place a marker after the forth st, thus you indicated the lace pattern placement), 1 st (the third raglan line, place a marker before this st ), 8 sts (left sleeve), 1 st ( the forsth raglan line, place a marker before this st), 5 sts (left back), 1 edge st. = 42 sts

Row 3 (RS and all RS rows: *knit till the raglan line, yo, sm, k1, yo - repeat from * twice, knit till the fist front marker, sm, yo, ssk, k2tog, yo, sm, *knit till the raglan line, yo, sm, k1, yo - repeat from * twice, knit till the last st, p1. = 50 sts

Row 4 (WS and all WS rows): k1, purl to the end. Repeat rows 3 and 4 nine more times.

After row 3 the number of sts is 50

After row 5 = 58 sts

After row 7 = 66 sts

After row 9 = 74 sts

After row 11 = 82 ata

After row 13 = 90 sts

After row 15 = 98 sts

After row 17 = 106 sts

After wor 19 = 114 sts

After row 21 = 122 sts

Row 23 (RS): k16 sts, yo, sm, k1 (raglan), *yo, k2tog - repeat 14 times, k1, yo, sm, k1 (raglan), yo, k13, sm, yo, ssk, k2tog, yo, sm, k13, yo, k1 (raglan), *yo, k2tog - repeat 14 times, k1, yo, sm, k1 (raglan), yo, k15, p1. = 130 sts

Row 24 (WS): purl.

Row 25 (RS): k17, yo, sm, k1 (raglan), k30, sm, k1 (raglan), yo, k 14, sm, yo, ssk, k2tog, yo, sm, k14, yo, sm, k1 (raglan), k30, sm, k1 (raglan), yo, k16, p1. = 134 sts

Row 26 (WS): k1, p18, k30, p36, k30, p19 = 134 sts

Row 27 (RS): knit 65, sm, yo, ssk, k2tog, yo, sm, k64, p1.

Row 28 (WS): like row 26

Divide for sleeves and bodice:

Row 29 (RS): k19, bind off 30 sts of the sleeve, work 36 sts of the front as est., bind off 30 sts of the other sleeve, k 18, p1.

Row 30 (WS): k1, p18, cast on 1, p36, cast on1, p19 = 76 sts

Row 31 (RS): k36, sm, yo, ssk, k2tog, yo, sm, p35, p1.

Row 32 (WS): k1, p 75.

Repeat row 31-32 three more times.

Row 39/ round 1: knit across, join into round and continue to work in rounds. Place a marker to mark the beginning of the round, slip marker while working.

Round 2: *k1, kfr&b rep from * across the rounds =124 sts

Round 3: knit across

Repeat round 3 thirty five times.

Work the next 6 rounds in lace pattern B:

Round 39: *yo, k2, k2tog - repeat from * 31 times = 124 sts

Rounds 40, 42 and 44 - knit across

Round 41: *k2 tog, yo - repeat from * 62 times.

Round 43: k1, * k2tog, yo, k2 - repeat from * 30 times, k2tog, yo, k1.

Work the next 6 rounds in garter stitch: purl rounds 45, 47, 49, knit rounds 46, 48 and 50.

Bind off. Cut yarn.

Button Band:

Crochet the button band on the right back: attach yarn, work *3 sc in edge sts, ch 3, rep 5 times, end with 3 sc.

Finishing:

weave in yarn ends. Sew 5 buttons on the left edge of the back.
