Sinfonia by Omega sport weight yarn (100% cotton), 218 yards (199 meters) / 100 gr, color White - 0.2 skein (CC)
invisible zipper 7" (18 cm)

Needles: US 2 (2.75 mm) circular needles and dpn of the same size for sleeves OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE.

Gauge for stockinette stitch: 22 st x 32 rows = 4" x 4" (10 x 10 cm).

Notions:

- 4 stitch markers

- Stitch holders or 2 pieces 10” long of contrasting color waste yarn to hold stitches

- Yarn needle

- 7" light-weight dress zipper

- Sewing needle and thread of color matching the yarn for attaching the zipper.

Abbreviations:

dpn – double pointed needles

K – knit

P – purl

St, sts – stitch, stitches

pu&k - pick up and knit

as est. - as established, work as the pattern demands, here knit the RS rows and purl the WS rows.

co – cast on

RS – right side

WS – wrong side

yo - yarn over

kfr&b - knit front and back

m 1 - make 1 increase - I used the increase described by Elizabeth Zimmerman: make a backward loop over the right-hand needle and in the next row/round purl/knit it as a regular stitch.

sm - slip marker

MC - main color

CC - contrast color

Pattern Notes:

Stockinette Stitch in rows:
Row 1 (RS and all RS rows): knit
Row 2 (WS and all WS rows): purl
Repeat 2 rows

Stockinette Stitch in rounds: all rounds - knit

Garter Stitch in rounds:
Round 1: knit
Round 2: purl
Repeat rounds 1&2

Raglan: All increases for raglan are done in odd/right side (RS) rows in the following way:

Work till 1 stitch remains before the marker, m1, knit 2 (the marker is between these 2 stitches, slip marker while working), m1. Repeat on all raglan lines, thus 8 stitches are added in each RS row. In each following wrong side row, purl the m1 stitches.

The selvedge/edge stitches are worked as follows: slip the first stitch knitwise and purl the last one.

Dress

The dress is worked from the top down, back and forth with the back seam. However, the bottom of the dress skirt can be worked in rounds to avoid the necessity of sewing a back seam. The front of the dress, sleeves and skirt are decorated with eyelets.

Check the stitches and place markerts: 1 edge st, 5 st (right back), 1 st (the first raglan line, place marker before this st), 10 sts (right sleeve), 1 st (the second raglan line, place marker before this st), 10 sts (front), 1 st (the third raglan line, place marker before this st), 10 sts (left sleeve), 1 st (the forth raglan line, place marker before this st), 5 sts (left back), 1 edge st. = 46 sts
