Elegant Suit (Cardigan and Skirt) for 18-inch Doll

Free Doll Suit Knitting Pattern

Materials: Paton (affiliate link)s Grace 100% cotton yarn sport weight, color - Azure, 125 m (136 yds) / 50 g - 1 skein.
Paton (affiliate link)s Grace 100% cotton yarn sport weight, color - Snow, 125 m (136 yds) / 50 g - 1 skein.

Needles:
2 (2.75 mm) OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE.

Gauge: 18 st x 28 rows = 4" x 4" (10 cm x 10 cm) for stocking stitch

Patterns:

Stocking Stitch
1 row and all odd rows - knit sts
2 row and all even rows - purl sts

Two-Sided Stocking Stitch Rib:
Cast on even amount of stitches
1 k, slip 1 st wyif (with yarn in front)
Turn, repeat the first row knitting slipped stitches and slipping stitches knitted in the previous row.

Cardigan

Back
With white yarn cast on 33 sts (including edge stitches).
Knit stocking stitch for 2 rows.
Change to blue yarn and continue knitting stocking stitch for 12 rows.
Row 15: cast off 4 sts at the beginning of the row to shape an armholes.
Row 16: cast off 4 sts at the beginning of the row to shape an armholes.
Rows: 17-30: stocking stitch.
Row 31: cast off 11 sts in the middle of the back and continue knitting the left and right parts of the back separately. There will be 7 sts on each side remaining.
Rows 32-36: stocking stitch. Cast off.

Right Front
With white yarn cast on 17 sts (including edge stitches).
Knit stocking stitch for 2 rows.
Change to blue yarn and continue knitting stocking stitch for 13 rows.
Row 16: cast off 4 sts at the beginning of the row to shape an armholes.

Rows: 17-28: stocking stitch.
Row 29: cast off 4 sts at the beginning of the row to shape a neckline.
Row 31: cast off 1 sts at the beginning of the row.
Row 33: cast off 1 sts at the beginning of the row.
Rows 34-36: stocking stitch. Cast off.

Left Front
With white yarn cast on 17 sts (including edge stitches).
Knit stocking stitch for 2 rows.
Change to blue yarn and continue knitting stocking stitch for 13 rows.
Row 15: cast off 4 sts at the beginning of the row to shape an armholes.

Rows: 17-28: stocking stitch.
Row 30: cast off 4 sts at the beginning of the row to shape a neckline.
Row 32: cast off 1 sts at the beginning of the row.
Row 34: cast off 1 sts at the beginning of the row.
Rows 35-36: stocking stitch. Cast off.

Sleeve
With white yarn cast on 23 sts (including edge stitches).
Knit stocking stitch for 4 rows.
Change to blue yarn and continue knitting stocking stitch for 12 rows (rows 5-16). Increase for 1 sts on both sides in 7th, 9th, 11th and 13th rows.
Cast off.

Finishing:
Join shoulder seams.
With white yarn pick up 104 sts along center of the left and right fronts and along the neckline and knit 4 rows of stocking stitch. In the 3rd row make 1 button hole at the top of the right button band by knitting k2tog, yo.
Cast off.
Join side seams and sleeve seams. Set in sleeves.
Sew 1 small button.

Skirt
Skirt is knitted from the waist down.
With white yarn cast on 60 sts (including edge stitches).
Rows 1-4: two-sided stocking stitch rib
Rows 5-8: *k2, p2* repeat from * to *, k2.
Rows 9-32: continue to knit (2 k, 2 p) rib.
To shape the skirt increase 5 times for 1 st in each knit strip of the skirt in 13th, 17th, 21st, 25th and 31st rows, 15 sts per row, total increase for 75 sts.
Rows 33-38: *k7, p2*, k7.
Cast off.

Finishing:
Join the back seam. Insert elastic cord into the two-sided stocking stitch rib.

I have a doll and her measurements are : 11 inch around chest; 12 1/2 inches around the thighs; legs 8 inches long; shoulder to shoulder is 3 3/4 inch; neck is 6 inches and arms 6 1/2 inches - how to i adapt your patterns so that it will fit her when i make it.

you cant look up the net for a free patten for childs dress i came accross some myself but were to small for my girl when i find the site ill get back to you with it
