Hand spun llama/alpaca DK weight yarn from the Autumn Hill Llamas Shop, color Natural Brown - 100 yds (91 m)/ 2 oz (57 gr) (B)
Needles: #6 US (4.00 mm)
Gauge for rib pattern: 16 sts x 24 rounds = 4" x 4" (10 cm x 10 cm)
Patterns:
Garter Stitch:
All rows knit
Rib
Row 1: knit
Row 2: *k2, p2* repeat to the end
Repeat rows 1-2
Directions:
Cast on 36 sts with yarn A
Work 4 rows in garter stitch
From row 5 work with 3 balls of yarn: 2 of color B and 1 of color A.
Row 5: with yarn B sl1, k4, with color A k 28, with color B (from the second ball) k5.
Row 6: with yarn B sl1, k4, with color A *k2, p2*, repeat 12 times, k2, with color B (from the second ball) k5.
Rows 7, 9, 11, 13 like row 5
Rows 8, 10, 12, 14 like row 6
Row 15: yarn B knit
Row 16: yarn B knit
Repeat rows 5-16 30 times or until desired length.
Knit the last 4 rows in yarn B.
Finishing:
