Materials: Aunt Lydia (affiliate link)'s Fashion Size 3 Crochet Thread 100% mercerized cotton, 150 yards (137 meters), color Black - 1 ball
Halloween themed small buttons
Seed Beads #8 appr. 160 beads (optional)

Hook: 1.5 mm

Gauge is not important

Abbreviations:
ch - chain
sc - single crochet
hdc - half double crochet
dc - double crochet
tr - treble crochet (with 2 yos)
dtr - double treble (with 3 yos)
bsc - beaded single crochet:  insert hook in indicated st, slide one bead up to the hook,
yo after the bead, draw yarn through the stitch, yo, draw yarn through both loops on the hook.

Cloak

Leave a tail of about 12", ch 51.
Row 1: hdc in the second ch from the hook, 49 hdc.

Row 2: ch 3 (counts as the first dc, *1 dc in the next hdc, ch 1 - rep from * across to the last 2 hdc, dc in each of the last hdc

Rows 3-4: ch 3, *tr in the next dc, ch 1 - rep from * across to the last 2 dc, tr in each of the last dc

Rows 5-6: ch 4, *tr in the next tr, ch 2 - rep from * across to the last 2 tr, tr in each of the last tr

Rows 7-8: ch 4, *tr in the next tr, ch 3 - rep from * across to the last 2 tr, tr in each of the last tr

Rows 9-10: ch 4, *dtr in the next tr, ch 4 - rep from * across to the last 2 tr, dtr in each of the last tr

Rows 11-12: ch 4, *dtr in the next dtr, ch 5 - rep from * across to the last 2 dtr, dtr in each of the last dtr

Rows 13-14: ch 4, *dtr in the next dtr, ch 6 - rep from * across to the last 2 dtr, dtr in each of the last dtr

Rows 15-16: ch 4, *dtr in the next dtr, ch 7 - rep from * across to the last 2 dtr, dtr in each of the last dtr

Rows 17-18: ch 4, *dtr in the next dtr, ch 8 - rep from * across to the last 2 dtr, dtr in each of the last dtr

Row 19: ch 1, sc (or bsc) in each tr and ch. Cut thread. Weave in the end.

To make a button loop: with the beg. tail: ch 5, fasten with a sl st to the edge 1-2 rows below. Sew a Halloween-themed button on the left front.
Decorate the cloak with Halloween-themed buttons.
