Free Doll Shawl Knitting Pattern
Stole measures 4" (10 cm) x 28" (70 cm)
Materials: Aunt Lydia's Fashion Crochet (Size 5) thread (100% cotton) 150 yards (137 meters) / 37 grams (1.30 ounces) - 1 ball
Needles: US 6 (4 mm) straight needles OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE,
though gauge is not very important in this project
k - knit
p - purl
yo - yarn over
ssk - slip, slip, knit (left leaning decrease)
Lace pattern worked on 13 sts:
Row 1:*yo, ssk, k1 repeat from * 4 times, k1
Rows 2, 4 and 6 purl
Row 3: k1, *yo, ssk, k1 repeat from * 4 times
Row 5: k2, *yo, ssk, k1 repeat from * 3 times, yo, ssk
Repeat rows 1-6.
All rows knit.
1 st slip, last st purl
The shawl is worked back and forth in a lace pattern.
CO 19 sts, knit 2 rows.
Starting from the 3rd row (RS) work all odd rows: sl 1, k 2, work the lace pattern on 13 sts, k 2, p 1
Work all even rows: sl 1, k 2, p 13, k 2, p 1.
Repeat the rows to desired length. End with 2 rows of garter st. Bind off. Block.
