Free Doll Pantyhose Knitting Pattern
This cute knitted outfit consists of a sweater, vest, skirt, tights, hat and shoes to change a doll into one of Santa's elves. It's a great decoration for around the house or on your Christmas tree and, of course, a perfect toy.
This outfit will fit a 14" doll from the Hearts for Hearts Girls series
Materials: Knit Picks Palette fingering weight yarn, 231 yards (211 meters) / 50gr, colors: 1982 Grass, 4932 Serrano and 9437 white one ball each for the whole outfit.
Needles: 5 dpn US #2 (2.75mm) 5" long and circular US #2 (2.75mm)
Gauge 20 sts x 30 rows = 4" x 4" (10 cm x 10 cm)
Ribbing 1x1 in rounds
All rounds: *k1, p1 repeat from * all the way around.
Stockinette in rounds
All rounds knit
Stockinette in rows:
Row 1: knit
Row 2: purl
Repeat rows 1-2.
Garter stitch in rounds:
Round 1 - knit
Round 2 - purl
Repeat rounds 1-2
Worked on 5 dpn in rounds from the top (waist) to the bottom (stocking) without seams.
With white yarn cast on 32 sts, close into circle and continue to work in rounds, distribute to 4 needles, 8 sts on each needle. Mark the beginning of the round.
Work a 1x1 ribbing for 4 rounds.
Round 5: m1 (place a marker on this st), k 16, m1 (place another marker on this stitch), k 16.
Rounds 6-10: knit.
Round 11 and all odd rounds (13, 15, 17, 19, 21, 23, and 25) increase by one st before and after the marked sts,
increasing each odd round by 4 sts. In round 25, you will have 66 sts
Transfer half of the sts from the third and fourth needles to a length of yarn; start with the stitch marked with the second marker, then transfer all 32 sts up to the first marker.
You will have 33 sts on 2 needles. Start to knit them and re-distribute sts to 3 needles, 11 st on each needle. Knit the last (33rd st) and the first st together. Thus you will complete the circle and have 32 sts on 3 needles.
Work 3 rounds.
Round 4 and all even rounds (6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28, 30, 32:
knit to the last 2 sts, the last 2 sts knit together untill you have 18 sts on the needles.
Rounds 4 through 9 work in white, rounds 10-11 work in red, change the color every 2 rounds.
Knit 50 rounds.
Round 51: *k2tog, k4 repeat from * 3 times = 15 sts
Rounds 52-54: knit
Round 55: *k2tog, k3 repeat from * 3 times = 12 sts
Rounds 56-65 knit.
Cut yarn, leaving a 4" (10 cm) tail. Pull through remaining 12 sts and secure.
Transfer the 33 sts from the piece of yarn to the needles. Work the second stocking the same way as the first one.
