Free Doll Dress Knitting Pattern
Materials:Lion Brand (affiliate link) Glamour acrylic yarn sport weight, 185 m (202 yds)/50 g, color 150 Platinum - 1 skein.
4 (3.50 mm), 2 (2.75 mm) and 1 (2.25 mm) OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE.
Gauge:20 st x 30 rows = 4" x 4" (10 cm x 10 cm) for stocking stitch
all rows - knit sts
1 row and all odd rows - knit sts
2 row and all even rows - purl sts
1 k, 1 p
The dress is worked from the bottom up as one piece up to the armholes.
On size 4 needles cast on 92 sts (including edge stitches).
Change to size 2 needles and knit garter stitch for 8 rows (ruffle).
Row 9: Knit 3 together to the end of the row. There will be 32 sts left after this row.
Row 10 (wrong side): purl.
Rows 11-38: stocking stitch.
Rows 39-62: change to size 1 needles and knit rib k 1, p1. Cast off.
Join the back seam.

I make this dress often it is so pretty and easy for little girls who love to dress up their barbie dolls. Very glamourus in lurex yarn too.

I have made three or four of these. They are very easy to make, and I am not the greatest knitter. The dresses fit well and look just as cute short as they do long. Easy for a little child to put on and take off the doll.
