Free Doll Dress Knitting Pattern
Brown Sheep Nature Spun Sport Weight yarn (100% wool ) 184 yd (168 m)/50g, color Red Fox - (shop for this yarn here!)
1.5 skeins (about 220 yards).
6 plastic snaps
Needles: US 2 (2.75mm) circular needles and US 2 (2.75 mm) dpn needles OR SIZE NEEDED
TO OBTAIN GAUGE
Gauge for stockinette stitch: 28 st x 38 rows = 4" x 4" (10 x 10 cm)
pu&k- pick up and knit
kfr&b - knit first in the front of the st then in the back of the same st.
Stockinette Stitch in rows:
1st row and all odd rows - knit sts
2nd row and all even rows - purl sts
Stockinette Stitch in rounds: all rows - knit
*k 1, p 1 - repeat from * across
The dress is worked from the top to the bottom, back and forth with the back seam a little bit
below the waistline. Then it's worked in rounds.
Cast on 41 sts and purl 1 row. Knit the next row, purl the next row.
Divide stitches as follows:
1 edge st, 5 st (right back), 1 st (raglan line, place marker),
8 sts (right sleeve), 1 st (raglan line, place marker), 10 sts (front),
1 st (raglan line, place marker), 8 sts (left sleeve), 1 st (raglan line, place marker),
5 sts (left back), 1 edge st.
Work rib 1x1 pattern on back and front; work stockinette st pattern on sleeves.
Work 30 rows increasing by 8 sts (double increase at the raglan sts) in each odd row as
follows: M1, k1, M1 at the raglan st. In even rows, purl the raglan sts, work the increased sts as

Row 31: Work right back sts in rib, transfer right sleeve sts to a length of yarn, co 3 sts,
work front sts in rib, co 3 sts, transfer left sleeve sts to a length of yarn, work left back stitches.
Continue to work bodice back and forth in rib for 9 more rows.
Next row: increase for skirt as follows: k 1 (edge), k 1, p 1, *kf&b (knit into front and back
of the st), p 1 - repeat to the last 3 sts, p 1, k 1, p 1, increasing the amount of sts to 127 sts.
The next row purl.
Work 10 more rows in stockinette.
In the next row join in round by knitting the last and the first sts together = 126 sts. Continue to
work in rounds.
Mark the beg of the round. Work in stockinette 14 more rounds.
The next round: *p 1, k 5 repeat from * across. Work 4 more rounds this way (5 rounds in all).
The next round: *m 1, p 1, m 1, k 5 repeat from * across.
The next round: *p 3, k 5 repeat from * across. Work 4 more rounds this way (5 rounds in all).
The next round: *p 3, kfr&b, k 3, kfr&b repeat from * across.
The next round: *p 3, k 7 repeat from * across. Work 4 more rounds this way (5 in all)
or to desired length. Bind off.
Sleeves are worked in stockinette st in rounds (all sts knit) on dpn:
Transfer 36 sts of the sleeve on dpn needles, evenly distributing the sts; pu&k 3 sts underarm.
Place a marker on the second underarm st to mark the center of the sleeve.
Work 2 rounds.
In the 3rd, 6th, 9th, 12th and 15th rounds decrease sts before and after the marked st: ssk at
the beg of the round and k2tog at the end of the round. Work 39 rounds, bind off.
Along the left edge of the back, starting from the skirt side, pu&k 36 sts. Stop 4 rows before the
neckline. Purl the row back. Knit one row, purl the next row. Bind off. Block.
Sew on snaps.
