Free Doll Jacket Knitting Pattern
Materials: Dale of Norway Falk Dalegarn sport weight grey yarn 106m (109 yds)/50g - 2 balls. Dale of Norway Falk Dalegarn sport weight pink yarn 106m (109 yds)/50g - 1 ball.
Needles:
1 (2.25 mm) OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE
10 pink buttons
Gauge:30 st x 30 rows = 4" x 4" (10 cm x 10 cm)

1 k, 1 p
Chevron Pattern
Multiple of 12 sts + 3 sts
Row: 1:1 k, k2tog, *9 k, k3tog* repeat from * to *, the last 12 sts 9 k, k2tog, 1 k
Row 2: 1 k, *1 p, 4 k, (1k, yo, 1 k) in the next st, 4 k*, repeat from * to *, the last 2 sts 1 p, 1 k
Repeat rows 1 and 2
Moss Stitch
Multiple of 2 + 1
Row 1: 1 k, *1p, 1k*, repeat from * to *.
Repeat row 1.
Stocking Stitch
1 row and all odd rows - knit sts
2 row and all even rows - purl sts
Two-Sided Stocking Stitch Rib:
Cast on even amount of stitches
1 k, slip 1 st knitwise
Turn, repeat the first row knitting slipped stitches and slipping stitches knitted in the previous row.
Edge stitches
The 1st and last stitch of the row are the edge stitches. To make the edges of your work even and smooth 2 more stitches (edge stitches) are added. You should always slip the first stitch as if to knit and purl the last stitch. The edge stitches are not counted in the pattern unless otherwise specified.
Jacket
Back and front of the jacket knitted as one piece up to armholes, then front and back knitted separately.
Cast on 89 sts (including edge stitches) with grey yarn.
Row 1 (wrong side) all knit
Row 2: chevron pattern. Knit chevron pattern for 35 rows.
Rows 8-11 and 16-19 knit with pink yarn.
Row 36-38 knit rib - 75 sts.
Row 39: 11 sts rib, 11 sts cast off, 29 sts rib, 11 sts cast off, 11 sts rib.
Continue back and left and right front separately.
Back
On 29 sts knit rib for 12 rows. Cast off.
Right Front
On 11 sts knit rib for 10 rows.
Row 11: Cast off 2 sts.
Row 13: Cast off 1 st.
Knit 24 rows of rib total. Cast off. The front of the jacket is longer than back and shoulder seams are shifted to the back.
Left Front
Knit as right front.
Sleeve
Cast on 41 sts (including edge stitches) with grey yarn.
Row 1 (wrong side) all knit
Row 2: chevron pattern. Knit chevron pattern for 25 rows.
Rows 8-11 knit with pink yarn.
Rows 26-28 knit rib - 35 sts.
Row 29: Cast off 2 sts on both sides to shape the arm hole.
Row 31: Cast off 1 st on both sides.
Rows 32-40 - rib. Cast off.
Finishing:
Join shoulder seams.
Pick up 39 sts. (including edge sts) along the center of the right front for the right button band.
Rows 1-8: moss stitch.
Row 9: Continue to knit moss stitch pattern and make 5 buttonholes: 2 sts, *yo, k2tog (knit 2 together), 6 sts*, repeat from * to * 4 times, 1 sts.
Row 10: continue moss stitch knitting yo as pattern requires.
Rows 11-12 moss stitch. Cast off.
Pick up 39 sts. (including edge sts) along the center of the left front for the left button band.
Knit 12 rows of stocking stitch.
Neck Band
Pick up 72 sts along the neck line.
Knit 8 rows of two-sided stocking stitch rib. Cast off.
Sew on 2 row of 5 buttons.
