I finished knitting this blanket finally around New Years and have given it to an adorable baby boy. His Mom was so pleased to get a non-blue blanket! Is there a way to share a photo of it? If so, please advise how to go about it. it was quite a challenge knitting it but it turned out not too badly. The troublesome spot was grafting the seam as it means switching between knit and purl stitches. I couldn't find instructions anywhere on how to do this. My knitting group didn't meet for months over the winter so they were no help. I fudged it and it's not all that pretty! I'd be happy share a picture if there's a way to do that.

You have to start the first cable on row 5, but continue according to the pattern: each next cable on the 9th row.

I think I get it. I'll cable on row 5, then on the 15th, 25th and 35th rows, etc. I will get at it tonight. Stay tuned as I will undoubtedly have more questions until I get the first 1/4 of the blanket done. Thank you!

Garter stitch looks like U's and stockinette stitch looks like as V's.
This pattern is garter stitch!

No, I can tell it is a garter stitch. Look closer at the pattern.

Is this pattern worked over 9 rows, or is it just from Row 2-6 repeated and the turn stitches increased? i.e 3st turn, 4st turn, 5st turn etc... You also don't get a rib at the start of work, if you start your first cable on Row 5. Can someone help please. Thanks.

I have another question for you. I have completed half the blanket and am curious about an instruction:

"Repeat from row 1 three more times to complete blanket. Cast off"

I didn't realize that I'd be casting off stitches. Don't I leave the 88 stitches on one needle, pull out the provisional yarn and put those 88 stitches on the 2nd needle, then graft them together? Am I missing something? Thanks for your help:))

I'm starting on this and am confused about the cable instructions. It says to make the cable on row 9, but in the knitting instructions it says to Cable 4F on row 5. So, do you cable on rows 5 and 9? Thanks for your help.

I thought it was stockinett also until I enlarged it and saw how it was constructed, then I could see the garter stitch. This is a very nice pattern. I think I'm going to try it!

This baby blanket looks like stockinette stitch in this picture and not garter stitch.
