In the middle of each row of the pattern, beginning at line 16 you will see "yo,k1,yo,k#,yo,k1,yo" The "yo" creates the line (border pattern) that separates the solid part from the lace trim and adds 2 stitches. The k# in the middle is the solid part of the shawl.

I just saw the picture of the stitches. OK....so, after the 45 rows, I am on the border 3rd row. So, I will have to next knit the 5th row as depicted in the graph. Will try doing it this way since, I am done up to 45 rows now.

This is a lovely pattern and if it works out, I hope to knit many more shawls!

Will keep you updated.

Thanks.

What a beautiful shawl. I am knitting this right now. So far going really well with the pattern as typed row by row. I use my laptop's cursor to make a note of which row I am, to make it easier and not make any errors to have to tink later.

Having completed the first round of the pattern up to row 45, I do not understand how and where to "add the 2 stitches in the middle " as the instructions call for!

Please someone help.

Thank you very much!

when I saw this pattern I was so excited. But I am glad I read it before buying my yarn. It is very confusing to me. It looks as though it is knit from the collar down but it is not established at all in the pattern. Is it knit from the bottom up? It looks as though the trellis pattern is where it start and ends. So where is the rest of the pattern? Please help
