Free Doll Dress Crochet Pattern

Materials: Bernat Baby Sport 100% Acrylic yarn, color - light lilac, 300 g / 875 m (957 yds) - 0.2 skein.
Lion Brand Fun Fur 100% Polyester yarn, color white, 64 yards (59 meters) / 50 gr - 1 skein
6 small buttons

Hook: E (3.5 mm)

Gauge: 9 dc = 2” (5 cm)

Abrreviations:
Sl st – slip stitch
Ch – chain
Dc – double crochet
Sc – single crochet


Dress

The dress is worked as follows: the skirt of the dress is worked in rounds, top down. The bodice is worked back and forth from the bottom up.

Skirt:

Chain 47, join with sl st to form a ring.

Round 1: ch 3 (counts as the first dc), 1 dc in each chain, connect with sl st to the top chain of ch-3-space. = 47 dc

Round 2: ch 3 (counts as the first dc), *2 dc in the next dc, 1 dc in the next dc, repeat from * 23 times across the round to the last dc, 1 dc in the last dc,  join with a sl st. = 70 dc

Rounds 3, 4, 5: ch 3 (counts as the first dc), 1 dc in each dc, join with a slip st.

Round 6: ch 3 (counts as the first dc), *2 dc in the next dc, 1 dc in the next dc, repeat from *  34 times across the round, 2 dc in the last dc, join with a slip st. = 105 dc

Round 7: ch 2 (counts as 1 sc), 1 sc in each dc, join with a slip st.

Round 8: ch  2 (counts as 1 sc) , 1 sc in the next sc, *skip 3 sc, 5 dc  in the next sc, skip the next 3 ssc, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sc  in the repeat from * across the round to the last 4 sc, skip 3 sc, 5 dc in the last sc.

Round 9: with white Fun Fur yarn, sc in each stitch across the round. Tie off.

Bodice:

The bodice is worked in rows back and forth, from the bottom up.

Row 1: Insert the hook in the last st of the first round of the skirt, crochet to the left.
Ch 2 (counts as 1 sc), 1 sc in each st of the row, turn. = 47 sc

Row 2: ch 2 (counts as 1 sc),  1 sc in each sc, turn. = 47 sc

Row 3: ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), 1 dc in each sc, turn = 47 sts

Rows 4, 6, 8, 10 like row 2.

Rows 5, 7, 9, 11 like row 3.

After you finish row 11, place markers after the followings sts: 10, 14, 33, 37.


Back left:

Rows 12, 14, 16, 18:  ch 2 (counts as 1 sc), 1 sc in each of the next 9 sts, turn.

Rows 13, 15, 17: ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), 1 dc in each of the next 9 sts, turn.

Row 19: 1 slip stitch in the next 4 sc, ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), 1 dc in each of the next 5 sc. Tie off.


Front:

Begin at the 2nd marker, or from the 15th st. Tie yarn.

Rows 12, 14, 16:  ch 2 (counts as 1 sc), 1 sc in each of the next 18 stitches, turn.

Rows 13, 15, 17: ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), 1 dc in each of the next 18 sc, turn.


Right shoulder:

Row 18: ch 2 (counts as 1 sc), 1 sc in each of the next 5 dc, turn.

Row 19: ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), 1 dc in each of the next 5 sc, tuen.

Row 20: like row 18. Tie off.


Left shoulder:

Count 13 sts, from the right shoulder along the front’s edge, start in the 14th st.

Row 18: ch 2 (counts as 1 sc), 1 sc in each of the next 5 dc, turn.

Row 19: ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), 1 dc in each of the next 5 sc, tuen.

Row 20: like row 18. Tie off.


Back right:

Start after the 4th marker, or from the 38th st.

Rows 12, 14, 16, 18:  ch 2 (counts as 1 sc), 1 sc in each of the next 9 sts, turn.

Rows 13, 15, 17: ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), 1 dc in each of the next 9 sts, turn.

Row 19: ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), 1 dc in each of the next 5 sc. Tie off.


Finishing

Sew the shoulders.

With main yarn, work one row of sc along the edges: start in back, at the lower left of the bodice opening, work up the edge, around the neckline, down the right edge. Turn, *3 sc,  ch 2, for a  buttonhole * repeat up along the right back edge. Tie off.

Work one row of sc with Fun Fur yarn along the neckline.

With main yarn work 2 rounds of sc along the armholes. Work one round of sc with Fun Fur yarn.

Sew on the buttons.
