100% Wool Lion Brand Fishermen's Wool yarn 465 yd (425 m) / 227g - 2.5 skeins. Color Oatmeal

Needles:
Size 8 (5.00 mm)

Gauge:
16 sts x  24 rows = 4" x 4" (10 cm x 10 cm)

Selvedge stitches
The 1st and last stitch of the pattern are selvedge stitches. To make the edges of your work even and smooth 2 more stitches (selvedge stitches) are added. You should always slip the first stitch as if to knit and purl the last stitch. The selvedge stitches are not counted in the pattern unless otherwise specified.

Directions

Cast on 99 sts.
Rows 1, 2, and 3: sl1, p1, *k7, p1*, repeat from * to * to the end of the row, end with p1.
Row 4: sl1, k2, *p5, k3*, repeat from * to *, end p5, k2, p1.
Row 5: sl1, p3, *k3, p5*, , repeat from * to *, end k3, p4.
Rows 6, 7, and 8: sl1, k4, *p1, k7*, repeat from * to *, end p1, k4, p1.
Row 9: repeat row 5.
Row 10: repeat row 4.
Repeat rows 1-10 until desired length.
Bind off.
