Materials: Ritratto S. Charles (Mohair blend) DK weight yarn 181 m (198 yds) / 50g (MC) - 1 skein.
Gossamer Karabella (Mohair blend) DK weight yarn 203 m (222 yds) / 50g (CC) - 1 skein.


Needles: 11 (8.00 mm) and circular 11 (8.00 mm) needles OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE

Gauge for stockinette stitch: 11 st x 14 rows = 4" x 4" (10 x 10 cm)

Notions: tapestry needle

Pattern Notes:

Stockinette Stitch in rows :
Row 1 (RS and all RS rows): knit
Row 2 (WS and all WS rows): purl

Repeat 2 rows.

Stockinette in rounds: all rounds knit

Edge stitches: knit the first st and purl the last one

Abbreviations:
K ā€“ knit

Pā€“ purl

st, sts - stitch, stitches

kfr&b - knit front and back

MC - main color

CC - contrast color

Short Overview of the Pattern:

The body of the scarf is worked on straight needles back and forth in stockinette till the desired length is achieved. Then the stitches are picked up along all edges of the scarf and the ruffle is worked in rounds, in contrast color. The scarf has a lacey look due to using large size needles.

The Scarf:
With MC (Ritratto) yarn cast on 30 sts .
Work in stockinette stitch for 130 cm (51") or the length you wish. Cast off.

Ruffle:
With CC (Gossamer) yarn pick up stitches around the scarf edges 3 sts for every 2 rows.
Rounds 1-2: Knit
Round 3 (increase round): *Kfr&b, k2 - repeat from * around.

Rounds 4-5: knit
Roound 6 (increase round): *Kfr&b, k1 - repeat from * around.

Round 7: knit. Cast off.

Finishing:
Weavw in all yarn ends. Block the scarf.
