Free Men Sweater Knitting Pattern

Materials:
Elann (affiliate link).com Peruvian Highland Wool yarn, color black, 50 g / 100 m (109 yards) - 11 skeins
Noro (affiliate link) Kureyon yarn, color 90, 50 g / 100 m (109 yards) - 2 skeins
Needles: 6 (4.0 mm) and 5 (3.75 mm) and circular 5 (3.75 mm) 60 cm (24") OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE

Gauge: 17 st x 24 rows = 4" x 4" (10 x 10 cm) for black yarn.

Patterns:

Rib: 1k, 1p

Stocking Stitch
1 row and all odd rows - knit sts
2 row and all even rows - purl sts

Back
With black yarn cast on 76 sts (including edge stitches) on 5 (3.75 mm) needles.
Knit rib for 10 rows. Add 26 sts evenly in the 10th row.
Change needles to 6 (4.0 mm) needles and knit stocking stitch as follows: 1 edge st, 68 sts black yarn, 18 sts Noro (affiliate link) yarn, 14 sts black yarn, 1 edge st. Knit for 86 rows.
Row 97: to shape an armhole cast off 7 sts at the beginning of the row.
Row 98: cast off 7 sts at the beginning of the row.
Rows 99 and 101: decrease for 1 sts on both sides.
Rows 102-146: stocking stitch. Cast off.

Front
With black yarn cast on 76 sts (including edge stitches) on 5 (3.75 mm) needles.
Knit rib for 10 rows. Add 26 sts evenly in the 10th row.
Change needles to 6 (4.0 mm) needles and knit stocking stitch as follows: 1 edge st, 14 sts black yarn, 18 sts Noro (affiliate link) yarn, 68 sts black yarn, 1 edge st. Knit for 86 rows.
Row 97: to shape an armhole cast off 7 sts at the beginning of the row.
Row 98: cast off 7 sts at the beginning of the row.
Rows 99 and 101: decrease for 1 sts on both sides.
Rows 102-122: stocking stitch.
Row: 123: cast off 18 sts in the middle of the front and continiue knitting the left and right parts of the front separately.
Rows 125- 138: decrease for 1 st in each odd row to shape a neckline.
Rows 139-146: stocking stitch. Cast off.

Sleeve
Cast on 32 sts (including edge stitches) on 5 (3.75 mm) needles
Knit rib for 10 rows. Add 20 sts evenly in the 10th row.
Change needles to 6 (4.0 mm) needles and knit stocking stitch.
Increase for 1 sts on both sides in every 4th row 23 times in 92 rows. There will be 98 sts (including edge stitches).
Knit 30 rows of stocking stitch (122 rows of stocking st total). Cast off.
Cast off.

Finishing:
Join 1 shoulder seam.
Pick up 92 sts on circular needles along the neckline and knit rib for 10 rows for the collar. Cast off.
Join another shoulder seam, side seams and sleeve seams. Set in sleeves.
