Materials: 100% Wool Brown Sheep Nature Spun Sport Weight yarn 184 yd (168 m)/50g - 18 skeins. Color 101 Burnt Sienna. (A)

Needles: 1 (2.25 mm) and 2 (2.75 mm). Circular 1 (2.25 mm) 60 cm (24") OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE.

Gauge: 22 st x 32 rows = 4" x 4" (10 x 10 cm)

Patterns:

Garter Stitch
all rows - knit sts

Reverse stocking stitch:
Row 1. purl
Row 2. knit
Repeat row 1 and 2.

Rib: 1k, 1p

Braid on 12 sts:
Rows 1, 3 and 5: knit.
Rows: 2, 4 and 6: purl.
Row 7: C6B (Cable 6 Back), C6F (Cable 6 Front).
Row 8: purl.
Repeat rows 1-8.

Cable on 2 sts:
Row 1: knit.
Row 2: purl.
Row 3: C2B (Cable 2 Back).
Row 4: purl.
Repeat rows 3-4.

Back
Cast on 120 sts (including edge stitches) on 1 (2.25 mm) needles.
Knit rib for 13 rows. In the last row add evenly 24 sts.
Continue on 2 (2.75 mm) needles on 144 sts: 1 edge st, 14 p (reverse stocking st), * cable on 2 sts, 2 p (reverse stocking st), cable on 2 sts, 9 p (reverse stocking st), braid on 12 sts, 9 p (reverse stocking st)*, repeat 3 times from * to *, cable on 2 sts, 2 p (reverse stocking st), cable on 2 sts, 14 p (reverse stocking st), 1 edge st.
Knit like this 170 rows. Cast off.

Front
Cast on 120 sts (including edge stitches) on 1 (2.25 mm) needles.
Knit rib for 13 rows. In the last row add evenly 24 sts.
Continue on 2 (2.75 mm) needles on 144 sts: 1 edge st, 14 p (reverse stocking st), * cable on 2 sts, 2 p (reverse stocking st), cable on 2 sts, 9 p (reverse stocking st), braid on 12 sts, 9 p (reverse stocking st)*, repeat 3 times from * to *, cable on 2 sts, 2 p (reverse stocking st), cable on 2 sts, 14 p (reverse stocking st), 1 edge st.
Knit like this 136 rows.
Row 137: to shape a neck line Close 30 sts in the middle of the front and continiue knitting the left and right parts of the front separately.
Decrease 1 sts in each odd row 20 times.
Knit total 170 rows (rib rows don't count).
Cast off.

Sleeve
Cast on 46 sts (including edge stitches) on 1 (2.25 mm) needles.
Knit rib for 13 rows. In the last row add evenly 16 sts.
Continue on 2 (2.75 mm) needles on 62 sts: 1 edge st, 8 p (reverse stocking st), cable on 2 sts, 2 p (reverse stocking st), cable on 2 sts, 9 p (reverse stocking st), braid on 12 sts, 9 p (reverse stocking st), cable on 2 sts, 2 p (reverse stocking st), cable on 2 sts, 8 p (reverse stocking st), 1 edge st.
Continue to knit for 140 rows adding 26 times 1 st on both sides in each 4th row and 9 times 1 st on both sides in each 2nd row. As you have more sts on the needle add *cable on 2 sts, 2 p (reverse stocking st), cable on 2 sts,* after 10 sts of reverse stocking stitch.
Cast off.

Cowl
Cast on 160 sts (including edge stitches) on 1 (2.25 mm) circular needles.
Join and knit in rounds garter stitch for 9" (22 cm). Cast off.

Finishing:
Join shoulder seams. Set in sleeves.
Join side seams and sleeve seams. Sew the cowl to the neck line.
