Free Crochet Scarf Pattern

The Wild Rose Scarf is a crochet design inspired by a vibrant flower meadow. Using self-striping yarn in floral colors, the pattern delivers a stylish representation of nature. Simple yet striking, this scarf is perfect for adding a touch of warmth and color to any outfit.

Skills Required/Techniques Used:
- Basic crochet stitches: chain (ch), single crochet (sc), double crochet (dc), trebble crochet (trc)

FINISHED SIZE: Length: 68" (170 cm). Width: 9" (22 cm)

Materials: Worsted weight self-striping yarn 270 yards (247 meters) /85 gr – 2 balls.


Gauge: 4 dc = 1" (2.5 cm)

st, sts - stitch, stitches
sc - single crochet
dc - double crochet
tr - treble crochet
ch, chs - chain, chains
sp - space
MC - main color
CC - contrast color
RS - right side
WS - wrong side

Wild Rose Pattern:

Chain multiple of 6 plus 2

Row 1 (RS): Sc in the second ch from the hook, *skip next 2 ch, 7 dc in the next ch, skip next 2 ch, sc in the next ch - repeat from * across, turn

Row 2: Ch 4 (counts as 1 tr), skip first sc, skip next dc, *dc in each of the next 5 dc**, skip next 3 sts; repeat from * across, ending last repeat at **, skip next dc, tr in the last sc, turn.

Row 3: ch 3 (counts as dc), 3 dc in the first dc, skip next 2 dc, sc in next dc, * skip next 2 dc, 7 dc between last skipped and next dc, skip next 2 dc, sc in the next dc, repeat from * across to within last 3 sts, skip next 2 dc, 4 dc in the 4th ch of turning ch, turn

Row 4: ch 3 (counts as dc), skip first dc, dc in each of the next 2 dc, *skip next 3 sts, dc in each of next 5 dc; rep from * across to within last 6 sts, skip next 3 sts, dc in each of next 2 dc, dc in 3rd ch of the turning ch, turn

Row 5: ch 1, sc in first dc, *skip next 2 dc, 7 dc between last skipped and next dc, skip next 2 dc, sc in next dc, rep from * across, ending with last sc in 3rd ch of turning ch, turn.

Repeat Rows 2-5

Short Overview of the Pattern:

The scarf is worked in 2 directions from the center. First you work one half of the scarf, then you start the pattern from the same chain and work in the other direction.


Chain 38.

Follow the pattern and repeat rows 2-5 until the working piece is .... long. Cut the yarn,

With right side facing, start the second half of the scarf from the beginning chain. Work row 1, then work rows 2-5, repeat them the same number of repeats as in the first half of the scarf. Cut yarn.


Weave in all yarn ends.
