Free Doll Sweater and Hat Knitting Pattern

This pattern is for a matched set of a sweater and hat, sized for a 14-inch doll such as Wellie Wishers, Hearts4Hearts, Glitter Girls, Ruby Red Fashions Dolls, etc. The two items use basic stockinette stitch and 1x1 rib, so they are quite beginner friendly and provide a simple yet elegant outfit for this size of doll, which I think is a little harder to find.

The selvedge/edge stitches are worked as follows: knit the first stitch and purl the last one.

Button Bands (bb) are worked in garter stitch on 3 stitches in the beginning and in the end of each row.

The sweater is worked top-down, seamlessly, first back and forth for 2 inches, then in rounds. The sweater is worked in stockinette with button bands in garter stitch and raglan increases. The sleeves are worked in rounds on dpn. I show in the instructions where to change yarn to make the stripes, but feel free to make the stripes as wide and where you like them.
