Gauge: 14 dc = 2" (5 cm), but it is not important.

Chain 6, join with sl st to make ring.
Rnd 1: ch 2 (counts as sc), 11 dc into the ring, sl st to ch 2 = 12 dc
Rnd 2: ch 2 (counts as dc), *2 dc in the same st, repeat to the end of the round, sl st to ch 2 = 24 dc.
Rnd 3: ch 2 (counts as dc), 2 dc in the same st, *1 dc, 2 dc in the next st, repeat from * to the end of the round, sl st to ch 2 = 36 dc.
Rnd 4: ch 2 (counts as dc), 2 dc in the same st, *2 dc, 2 dc in the next st, repeat from * to the end of the round, sl st to ch 2 = 48 dc.

Tie off

Crochet identical panel for the back.

Handle / side panel

With yarn A ch 15
Row 1 and all other rows: ch 2 (counts as 1 dc), 14 dc.
Work until 76" (190 cm) long (or to desired length). Connect to the beginning of the handle.

Finishing
With yarn B work 1 row of sc around 3 sides of the front panel attaching the side panel to the
front panel. Repeat for back panel.

Make a lining for the bag and install it (optional).

Work 3 rows of dc along the 4th side of the front panels for a zipper closure. Install a zipper.
Work 1 row of sc along the handle connecting both sides to make a tube. Insert a cord into the
tube and secure the ends.
