Free Baby Bib Knitting Pattern
The bib is knitted with garter stitch and finished with crochet edging and a crochet poinsettia embellishment.
Materials: Knit Picks (affiliate link) Simply Cotton Organic Sport weight yarn, 164 yards (150 meters) / 50 gr, color Natural - 0.5 ball (A)

Needles: US #2 (2.75 mm)
Hook: C (2.75mm)
Gauge: 25 st = 4" (10 cm)
Directions
With yarn A cast on 50 sts. Work garter stitch for 70 rows.
Neck shaping:
Row 71: k17, join 2nd ball of yarn and bind off center 16 sts. Knit remaining 17 sts to the end.
Continue to work both parts simultaneously, working from 2 balls. Knit all even rows.
Rows 72-74: knit
Row 75: k1, ssk, k11, k2tog, k1 - repeat for the second part
Row 77: k1, ssk, k9, k2tog, k1 - repeat for the second part
Row 79: k1, ssk, k10; the second part: k10, k2tog. k1
Rows 80-84: knit
Row 85: k1, ssk, k7, m1, k2; the second part: k2, m1, k7, k2tog, k1
Rows 86-88 knit
Row 89: like row 85
Rows 90-92 knit
Row 93 like row 85
Rows 94-96: knit
Row 97 like row 85
Rows 98-100: like row 85
Rows 101, 103, 105, 107, 109, 111, 113, 115 like row 85; all even rows knit.
Row 116: bind off.
Crochet Edging (see video)
With yarn B
The first round sc, make 3 sc in one st. on the corners
The second round hdc, make 3 hdc in one st on the corners.
While crocheting on the right strap, chain 2, skip 2 sts to form buttonhole, work hdc to the end of the round.
Embellishments
Berries:
With red yarn, ch4, join into circle with slip stitch:
Round 1: ch 2, hdc in the same st. 2 hdc in each st of the previous round. Join with slip stitch. Bind off.
Holly Leaf:
With green yarn, ch 9.
Row 1, ch2, sc in 2nd st of the chain. Sc in each st of the chain. In the last st 3 sc, and continue working along the other side of the chain, sc in each st of the chain. Turn.
Row 2: ch 2, *2 sc, ch 3, sc in the next st (without skipping any sts of the previous row), repeat from * 5 more times.
Finishing
Block the bib. Sew the button to the left strap to match the button loop on the right strap.
Sew the leaves and berries onto the bib.
