Would you be able to break this down to a "shawl"-sized pattern

Thank you,
Gloria

I have started this afghan and find the pattern very difficult and have been unable to figure it out. I am fairly new to crochet, but have been able to figure out most of the patterns I have tried. Is there a way to check to see if it is me or is it really a difficult pattern?

Hey Judy so this was a pretty straight forward pattern just reading through and using the diagram for reference (in my opinion). However I have done the same thing with patterns. If you are still having problems with the pattern, I'd be happy to try and help; just let me know where you are becoming confused with it. I am beginning this pattern as well once I am given, or self determine how to adjust for worsted weight yarn and increase size; so it wouldn't at all be going out of my way to assist:)

Caitlin, Thanks for responding. I think I have it figured out. In the very beginning the ch 1, skip next ch, (dc in next ch, c 1) repeat 3 times is printed 2 times. Also, at the end repeat *to* 16 times. I came up with 14. I am working on row 2 now and it seems to be working out. I started crocheting in Oct and really like it. If I come across any other problems, I will be sure to come back for help. Again, thank you.

I am having trouble with row one too. I also think that first part is repeated, so I tried it just once, and got to decrease #17, but I have like one stitch left and can't finish the row. Have you gotten farther, and is it working for you?

Hi I'm wanting to crochet this. Did you rewrite the instructions with your fixed directions you noted. If so please send. Thx much. I'm a newbie too. Tried the cloudy day ripple throw at reheat but isn't working for me

If you have figured out direction for row 1, please send to me. I wonder about the beginning as it seemed like to many. Thanks

Hi. I'm not sure if you are the pattern designer but do you. Happen to know what the pattern repeat is on this ripple afghan I would like to make mine about half the width

I love the beauty and simplicity of this afghan. Could this be stitched in a ww yarn provided the gauge is met?
Also does anyone by chance know the numbers to increase the afghan's width about 4 in and length 6 in(72 in x 60 in dimentions)?

You can crochet this afghan in any yarn. If you have the same gauge, you'll get the same size. To make it 4" wider, just increase for 1 repeat. To make it longer crochet more rows.

Any easy fix to enlarge or reduce the overall size is to change the hook size up or down. For a smaller afghan, use an "F" hook, crochet a gauge swatch and see if you like the results. For a larger afghan jump up to an "H" hook and repeat the gauge swatch to check before beginning.

I too like this pattern and I am self teaching myself. I would like to know if there is someway to have this pattern printed in its entirety? There is no one around where I live that can help me decipher this so I can just crochet. I also do not understand a lot of the pattern.

I finished my afghan a couple months ago and it is beautiful. Now I would like to make another for a friend. However, it is not coming out again. How many stitches does it take for each section? The last time I just had to keep adjusting until I got something that worked but can't remember how I did it. Help please

I really like the way this pattern looks, but I am having a heck of a time making this pattern work. I tried with the directions that are given, but by the time you get to row 3, it does not work. At first I thought I had missed something so I did it from the start a 2nd & 3rd time. I've also tried re-vamping the pattern, and I'm not able to get it to work either. Any help would be appreciated. Or if anybody knows of a similar pattern, if you would share that would be great.

This is a beautiful pattern. Have so many afghans already but this is to pretty to pass up. For those that have more than they need but can't stop. A good idea - I crocheted 15 for a nursing home this past year and really enjoyed.

Is there a video demonstrating how to make this? I am just now learning how to crochet, I do not understand how to read the directions yet. I have basically learned by watching videos thus far.
Thank you, Dallas
