What is the size of the scarf, as I would like to change the size to a prayer shawl (approx. 25" x 64")?

To make wide shawl work more rows in the first part of the scarf (rows 3-34). Work until you have the desired width. Then proceed to row 35.

I'm asking myself the same thing! I'm wondering why nobody has answered this yet?

Looks very effective and much more complicated than it seems to be from your instructions. I'm going to try adapting it to a basic waistcoat design to give the garment more "oomph".

This pattern looks awesome. Can't wait to make it. Since you're a designer, any chance of making it (pattern)into a vest?

You can use any yarn you like. Just make sure you choose the correct needle size if you change the size of yarn. Make a swatch first to see if it works. This would look great in a solid colour or variegated yarn. Don't use dark colours -- the pattern won't be seen!
