I gave up trying to get the squares to crochet together and made the squares and then slipped them together and it lies flat and is lovely. The finishing row makes sense until I get to the extra row on the long side-there are no * * for repeat and I'm guessing that the last 2 chains are the spacing between the "picots" made with the dc. I tried skipping one stictch but it got too bunched up. I tried skipping 2 stitches but that doesn't look right either-can you post a picture of the finished long edge? Thanks-it is lovely. I made it out of extra fine Chilean rayon yarn and it is breath-taking.
