Materials: Bernat Baby Sport DK weight yarn (100% acrylic), 1255 yards (1148 meters) / 350 gr, color Light Lilac – 1 ball or about 15 yards. (A)
Fun Fur by Lion Brand (100% polyester), 64 yards (59 meters)/ 50 gr, color Lavender – left-overs, or about 10 yards (B)

Notions: yarn needle, stitch marker

Needles: US # 4 (3.5 mm) double pointed needles (dpn) OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE

Gauge: 16 sts = 4" (10 cm)

Pattern Notes:

Stockinette stitch in rounds:
all rounds knit.

Abbreviations:
k – knit
k2tog – knit 2 sts together

The hat is worked bottom-up, in the round, seamlessly on double-pointed needles.

With yarn A, cast on 60 sts. Distribute evenly on dpn, join into round, mark the beginning of the round.
With yarn A work 15 rounds.

Rounds 16-25 work even rounds with yarn B and odd rounds with yarn A. From round 26, start working decreases.
Round 26 (decrease round, yarn B) ; *k8, k2tog - rep from * 6 times = 54 sts
Work rounds 27-29 alternating colors as established (round 27 yarn A, round 28 yarn B, round 29 yarn A).
Round 30 (decrease round, yarn B): *k7, k2tog - rep from * 6 times = 48 sts
Work rounds 31 - 33 alternating colors as established.
Round 34 (decrease round, yarn B): *k6, k2tog - rep from * 6 times = 42 sts
Round 35 (yarn A): knit.
Round 36 (decrease round, yarn B): *k5, k2tog - rep from * 6 times = 36 sts
Round 37 (yarn A): knit.
Round 38 (decrease round, yarn B): *k4, k2tog - rep from * 6 times = 30 sts
Round 39 (yarn A): knit.
Round 40 (decrease round, yarn B): *k3, k2tog - rep from * 6 times = 24 sts
Round 41 (yarn A): knit.
Round 42 (decrease round, yarn B): *k2, k2tog - rep from * 6 times = 18 sts
Round 43 (yarn A): knit.
Round 44 (decrease round, yarn B): *k1, k2tog - rep from * 6 times = 12 sts

Finishing
Cut both yarns, leaving 5" (12 cm) tails. Pull tails through all sts of last row and secure. Weave in the ends.
