Free Doll Jumper Knitting Pattern

Skills Required/Techniques Used:

-Knit & purl, cast on & bind off

-Increasing: knit front and back (kfr&b), yarn over (yo)

-Decreasing: knit 2 together (k2tog), slip-slip-knit (ssk)

-Working in the round on double pointed needles or on circular needles using "magic loop" technique.

Materials: Sinfonia by Omega sport weight yarn (100% cotton), 218 yards (199 meters) / 100 gr, color Deep Blue - 0.25 skein
Sinfonia by Omega sport weight yarn (100% cotton), 218 yards (199 meters) / 100 gr, color White - 0.25 skein
Small amount of red yarn
Notions: yarn needle, blue, white and red star buttons 9mm diameter, sewing needle and thread to attach the buttons

Needles: circular or dpn US #2 (2.75mm) OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE

Gauge for stockinette stitch: 24 st x 32 rows = 4" x 4" (10 cm x 10 cm)

Pattern Notes:

Stockinette stitch in rounds: all rounds knit

Stockinette Stitch in rows:
Row 1 (RS and all RS rows) - knit
Row 2 (WS and all WS rows) - purl

Repeat 2 rows.

Garter stitch in rounds:
Round 1 and all odd rounds - knit
Round 2 and all even rounds - purl


Abbreviations:

k - knit

p - purl

kfr&b - knit front and back (increase)

yo - yarn over

k2tog - knit 2 together

st, sts - stitch, stitches

Jumper

The jumper is worked top down, in the round, the shoulder straps are worked separately and attached to the jumper with buttons.

With blue yarn cast on 60 sts, join and continue to work in rounds, take care not to twist the sts.
Round 1: knit.
Round 2 (eyelet round): *k2tog, yo - repeat from * to the end of the round.
Rounds 3-16: knit.
Round 17 (increase round) with white yarn: *k1, kfr&b - repeat from * to the end of the round. = 90 sts
Rounds 18-37: knit with white yarn
Rounds 38-39: knit with red yarn
Rounds 40-41: knit with white yarn
Rounds 42- 46: work garter stitch with blue yarn. Knit rounds 42, 44, 46. Purl rounds 43, 45.
Bind off.
The length of the jumper is 6".

Shoulder Straps

With blue yarn, co 30 sts. Work in stockinette 6-8 rows. Bind off.

Finishing

Weve in all yarn ends. Sew buttons to the ends of the shoulder straps. Button them through the eyelets at the upper edge of the jumper.
