Chest: 23 [25, 27, 28.5, 30] inches (58 [62, 68, 71, 75] cm)

Materials: Garnstudio Drops Alpaca sport weight yarn (100% alpaca), 182 yards (166 meters) /50 gram, color Dark Brown - 4 (6, 6, 8, 10) skeins
Small amount of the same yarn in colors Off White and Camel Beige
NOTE! The sweater is knitted using two strands of yarn. It could be made in other aran weight yarn.

Needle: US 6 (4.0 mm) straight, circular (21") and dpn OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE.

Gauge for garter st: 16 sts x 36 rows = 4" x 4" (10cm x 10cm)

Garter Stitch
All rows - knit.

Rib 1x1:
All rows: k 1, p 1

Stripes:
White - 2 rows (1 garter st ridge)
Dark Brown - 2 rows (1 garter st ridge)
Camel Beige - 4 rows (2 garter st ridges)
Dark Brown - 2 rows (1 garter st ridge)
White - 2 rows (1 garter st ridge)

Sweater

Sleeve

Cast on 28 (28, 28, 30, 30) sts (there are 2 selvedge sts included) and work garter st.
Work 78 (96, 104, 114, 122) rows, increasing the sleeve as follows:
increase by 1 st at the beginning and the end of the row in every 12th row 4 (3, 2, 2, 0) times;
increase by 1 st at the beginning and the end of the row in every 10th row 3 (6, 8, 9, 9) times;
increase by 1 st at the beginning and the end of the row in every 8th row 0 (0, 0, 0, 4) times;

Work stripe sequence starting from row 29 (37, 41, 47, 51).

Body

Row 79 (97, 105, 115, 123): at the end of this row cast on 29 (34, 40, 50, 57) sts. At the end of the next row, cast on the same amount of sts. These are body stitches, which form the front and the back.
Work back and front for 20 (24, 28, 30, 32) rows.
Work stripe sequence starting from row 7 (11, 15, 17, 19).
In the next row, bind off 2 sts in the middle of the row and continue to work back and front separately.
Work pattern for 58 (68, 68, 70, 72) rows.
In the next row (right side) work back sts, cast on 2 st and continue to work front sts.
Work another 20 (24, 28, 30, 32) rows for other shoulder.
Work another stripe sequence starting from row 3 of the shoulder.

Sleeve

In the next right side row, bind off 29 (34, 40, 50, 57) sts at the beginning of the row, work to the end of the row, turn. Bind off 29 (34, 40, 50, 57) sts at the beginning of the wrong side row.

Work 78 (96, 104, 114, 122) rows for the other sleeve, decreasing as follows:
decrease by 1 st at the beginning and the end of the row in every 8th row 0 (0, 0, 0, 4) times;
decrease by 1 st at the beginning and the end of the row in every 10th row 3 (6, 8, 9, 9 times;
decrease by 1 st at the beginning and the end of the row in every 12th row 4 (3, 2, 2, 0) times;
Bind off all sts.

Work stripe sequence starting from row 39 (49, 53, 57, 61).

Finishing

Sew side and sleeve seams.
Pick up and knit sts along the front neckline and work rib 1x1 for 4 rows. Bind off. Repeat the same for back neckline. Sew on the ends, overlapping the short ends and sew on to the sides.
Pick up and knit sts along the sleeve bottoms on dpn needles and work rib 1x1 for 10 rows. Bind off.
Pick up and knit sts along the bottom of the sweater on circular needles and work rib for 10 rounds. Bind off.
