750yds/675 m dark color and 1250 yds/1125 m light color
The afghan in the picture was crocheted from 1 strand of Soft Boucle by Bernat 5oz/140g 255 yds/23m 97% acrylic/3% polyester in two colors (3skeins of color A, 26309 bardot, and 5 skeins of color B, 22425 pink) and

1 strand of Fashion Plus mill end yarn

Hook: 9 mm

Gauge is not important

Yarn A - dark color
Yarn B - light color

Abbreviations:

ch =chain,
dc= double crochet;
st(s) = stitch(es);
sl st= slip stitch.

Pattern "Classic Granny Square":

All sts are worked in ch space: this means that the hook is inserted underneath the chain sts not into the chain sts.

Ch 6, join with sl st to make ring.

Round 1: ch3 (counts as 1dc here and throughout), 2dc into ring, ch2, *3dc into ring, ch2, rep from * two more times, join with sl st into top of ch3, turn

Round 2: ch3, 2dc in ch-2 space, ch2, 3dc in the same ch-2 space, *ch1, 3dc in the next ch-2 space, 2ch, 3dc in the same ch-2 space rep from * two more times, ch1, join with sl st into top of ch3, turn

Round 3: ch3, 2dc in the ch-1 space, ch1, *3dc in the ch-2 space, ch2, 3dc in the same ch-2 space (first corner), ch1, 3dc in next ch-1 space, ch1, repeat from * two times more, 3dc in the last ch-2 space, ch2, 3 dc in the same ch-2 space, ch1, join with sl st into top of ch3, turn

Round 4: ch3, 2dc in the first ch-1 space, ch1, *3dc in the first ch-2 space, ch2, 3 dc in the same ch-2 space (the corner), (ch1, 3dc in next ch-1 space) twice, ch1, repeat from * two times more, 3 dc in the last 2ch space, ch2, 3dc in the same ch-2 space, ch1, 3dc in last ch-1 space, ch1, join with sl st into top of ch3, turn.

Continue in the same way, turn after each round.
