Materials: Oomingmak Qiviut 100% Qiviut worsted weight yarn 120 yards (110 meters) / 56 gr - 0.5 skein (A)
Knit Picks Wool of the Andes 100% wool worsted weight yarn, color Fedora 110 yards (101 meters) / 50 gr - 1 skein (B)

Needles: #4 (3.5 mm) and #5 (3.75 mm) circular needles SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE.

Patterns:

Broken Rib Pattern
Row or round 1: knit
Row or round 2: *k1, p1 rep from * across the row/round
Repeat rows (rounds) 1-2

Diamond pattern in rounds
Round 1 with color A: knit
Round 2 with color B: k1, *sl1 wyib (with yarn in the back), k1*, repeat across the round
Round 3 with color A: knit
Round 4 with color B: k2, *sl1 wyib, k1*, repeat accross the round

Gauge for Diamond pattern on needles # 5: 15 sts x 32 rounds = 4" x 4" (10 cm x 10 cm)

Directions

With color B cast on 80 st on needles # 4, join and continue to work in rounds.
Work 10 rounds in Broken Rib pattern.
Round 11: change to needles #5 and work Diamond pattern for 38 rounds
Rounds 39-40: work Broken Rib pattern in color B

Round 41: *k6, k2tog, rep from * 10 times = 70 sts

Round 42: *(k1, p1) rep 2 times, k1, k2tog, (p1, k1) rep 2 times, p1, k2tog , rep from * 5 times = 60 sts
Round 43: knit
Round 44: *k1, p1, rep from * across the round
Round 45: knit
Round 46: *(k1, p1) rep2 times, k2tog, (p1, k1) rep 2 times, k2tog, rep from * 5 times = 50 sts
Round 47: knit
Round 48: *k1,p1, k1, k2 tog, p1, k1, p1, k2tog, rep from * 5 times = 40 sts
Round 49: knit
Round 50: *k1, p1, rep from * across the round
Round 51: *k2tog, rep from * 20 times = 20 sts
Round 52: knit
Round 53: *k2tog, rep from * 10 times  = 10 sts
Cut yarn, leaving a 10" (25 cm) tail. Pull through all the remaining sts and secure.
