Seed Stitch Triangular Kerchief (Baktus)

Size:70" (178 cm) long and 17" (43 cm) wide in the widest part

Materials:luxurious tencel/silk handspun DK weight yarn from the Autumn Hill Llamas Shop - 350-400 yds (320-365 m)


Needles: 6 (5.50 mm)
Hook: 3.0 mm

Gauge: 20 sts x 24 rows = 4 x 4" (10 cm)

Pattern:

Seed Stitch
Multiple of 2 sts
Row 1 *K1, p1*, repeat to the end of the row
Row 2: *p1, k1*, repeat to the end of the row.
Repeat rows 1-2

Directions:
Cast on 4 sts.
Work Seed Stitch pattern. Always slip the first st and purl the last stitch in each row to make an even and smooth edge of your kerchief.
At row 5 increase by 1 st between the 1st and the 2nd sts. Do this every 4th row.
Knit until the desired length and width (mine is is 35" long to the center and 17" wide in the center.)
Start to decrease by 1 st by k2tog the 2nd and 3rd sts in every 4th row. Work the same number of rows for the second half of the kerchief.
Cast off 4 remailning sts, but do not cut off the yarn.

Finishing:
Crochet 1 row of sc around the kerchief. Tie off.
