Free Doll Dress Crochet Pattern

Size: For 16-in fashion dolls by Tonner

Materials: 100% cotton crochet yarn #10 white and variegated - 1 ball each.
Hook: C (2.75 mm) OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE

Gauge: 24 st = 4" (10 cm)

Directions:

Skirt
Chain 70 in variegated thread. Connect into circle and crochet 1 row of sc (single crochet).
Continue with dc (double crochet). Crochet 2 dc in each 7th dc adding 10 dc in a row.
Continue adding 10 dc in each row.
Crochet for 22 rows. Knit last row with white yarn. Tie off.

Bodice
Start crocheting sc on the top of the skirt inserting hook in the chain loops. Crochet the first row in round, then start crocheting back and forth making a back opening.
Crochet sc for 9 rows decreasing evenly so that there are 32 sc in the 9th row.
Crochet 2 rows of sc
Continue crocheting for 24 rows adding evenly 24 sc as follows: increase for 6 sc per row 4 times in every 4th row - 56 sc.
Row 36: 3 sc, *1 hdc (half double crochet), 1 dc, 1 tc (treble crochet), 1 dc, 1 hdc*, 12 sc, repeat from * to *, 4 sc, repeat from * to *, 12 sc, repeat from * to *, 3 sc.
Row 37: 20 sc, *1 hdc (half double crochet), 1 dc, 1 tc (treble crochet), 1 dc, 1 hdc*, 4 sc, repeat from * to *, 20 sc.
Row 38: 5 sc, chain 20 (for the shoulder strap), 12 sc starting from the 1st treble crochet of the front, chain 20, 5 sc, starting on the 5th sc from the end of the previous row. Tie off.

Finishing:
With variegated thread crochet 3 rows of sc for the neck opening starting at the back opening.
Crochet 3 rows of sc for each arm opening with variegated thread. Tie off.
Crochet chain 40 cm (15 in) to lace the back of the dress.
