Needles: 4 (3.5 mm), crochet hook OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE
Gauge for stocking stitch for yarn B: 19 st x 28 rows = 4" x 4" (10 x 10 cm)
Gauge for Chevron Pattern: 11 st = 2" (10 cm)

Row1 (WS) in color A (red): knit
Rows 2-5 in color A: knit
Rows 6,8 and 10 in color B (white): *k2tog, k2, knit into front and back of the next 2 sts, k3, ssk; repeat from *
Rows 7, 9 and 11 in color B: purl
Row 12 in color A: repeat row 6
Row 1 (RS) : knit
Row 2 (WS): purl
Repeat rows 1-2
All rows knit
To make the edges of your work even and smooth 2 more stitches (edge stitches) are added. You should always slip the first stitch as if to knit and purl the last stitch. Please note that edge stitches are not counted in the pattern unless otherwise specified.
The dress is worked as one piece bottom up with back and shoulder seams.
With color A cast on 123 sts (121 sts (11 pattern repeats) + 2 edge sts= 123 sts). Work chevron pattern through all sts. Work 84 rows.
Work rows 85 - 90 in color A (red) in garter stitch.
Row 90: 1 slip, *k2tog repeat to the end*, k1 = 62 sts
Bodice in color B (white)
Work 6 rows (rows 91-96) in stockinette st.
Row 97: sl 1, k 13, cast off 4 sts, k 26, cast off 4 sts, k14
Continue to work from 3 balls of yarn. Work each part in stockinette st for 11 rows. There are 14 sts in the left back, 26 sts in the front and 14 sts in the right back.
Row 108: left back: cast off 6 sts sts, k 8
front: k8, cast off 10 sts, k 8
right back: k 14
Row 109: right back: cast off 6 sts, p8
front: p 8 --- add the forth ball (12-15" long yarn will be enough) and p8
left back: p8
Row 110 knit as established
Row 111 purl as established.
Transfer each group of 8 sts on double-pointed needles.
Cast off all sts.
With color A (red) cast on 92 sts. Work garter stitch for 6 rows.
Row 7: sl1, *k3 tog* repeat to the end of the row, k1
Row 8: p 32
Row 9: change to color B (white) - k 32. Work stockinette stitch. Work as established for 16 rows.
Row 25: cast off 4 sts, k 28
Row 26: cast off 4 sts, p 28
Continue to cast off 1 st in every row until you have 16 sts remained. Cast off.
Sew shoulder seams.
Sew the sleeves.
Set in the sleeves into the armholes.
Sew the back seam of the skirt.
Crochet two rows of sc along the neckline and the back opening. Attach a snap closure to the back.

I LOVE this dress! Can you tell me the finished length of the dress BEFORE knitting the bodice. My gage seems correct but I would like to be sure.
