Skills Required/Techniques Used:
--Knit & purl, cast on & bind off
--Increasing: make 1 (m1)

--Decreasing: knit 2 together (k2tog)

--Basic crocheting: single crochet (sc)

Materials: luxurious tencel/silk handspun DK weight yarn from the Autumn Hill Llamas Shop - 350-400 yds (320-365 m)

Needles: 6 (5.50 mm) OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE
Hook: 3.0 mm

Gauge: 20 sts x 24 rows = 4 x 4" (10 cm)

Abbreviations:

k - knit

p - purl

k2 tog - knit 2 together

m 1 - make 1 increase - I used the increase described by Elizabeth Zimmerman: make a backward loop over the right-hand needle and in the next row/round purl/knit it as a regular stitch.

st, sts - stitch, stitches

Pattern Notes:

Seed Stitch:
Multiple of 2 sts
Row 1 (RS): *K1, p1*, repeat to the end of the row
Row 2: *p1, k1*, repeat to the end of the row.
Repeat rows 1-2

Edge stitches: knit the first st in a row and purl the last one.

Directions:
Cast on 4 sts.
Rows 1-4 : (k1, p1) x 2 times (4 sts)
At row 5 increase by 1 st between the 1st and the 2nd sts.

Row 5: k1, m1, k1, p2 (5 sts). Make these increases every 4th row.
Work until the desired length and width (mine is 35" long to the center and 17" wide in the center.)
Then start to decrease by 1 st by knitting together the 2nd and 3rd sts in every 4th row. Work the same number of rows for the second half of the kerchief.
Cast off 4 remailning sts, but do not cut off the yarn.

Crochet 1 row of sc around the kerchief edges. Tie off.

Finishing:

Weave in all yarn ends. Block the scarf.

Enjoy!

I enjoy your patterns, and have collected quite a number of them. Inow the past, I used copy and paste into Word, then saved the file as a .pdf. This does take quite a number of steps. Then I discovered Print Friendly, but that requires typing in the exact golem name, which can be tedious. How about adding a Print Friendly button to your patterns?
